So earlier this week, the Holy Spirit told me to preach in the campus shuttle(korope) on my way to school.
When I entered, I was scouring the faces of everybody in the bus to see who I was going to preach to. Everyone was just frowningđ
I turned to the lady beside me and I started preaching to her. She told me she was already saved but she would still like to hear me out. So I continued my message and implored her to preach to others as well because we are saved to save others. She told me that she wants to but sheâs shy and she doesnât know what to say.
Side note: God is looking for willing vessels not brimming vessels. You donât have to always know what to say, just open your mouth and trust that God will fill it up.
She thereafter asked for my number to help her with tips for evangelizing. I was just thinking to myself âme that itâs my first time preaching in the busđ â. But we exchanged contacts.
So on Friday, I went out for evangelism and I met a guy, Adewale. I started speaking to him and then he asked me if I was a Jehovahâs Witness. I asked him the reason for his question and he said because I donât look like a Jehovahâs Witness. I just laughedđ and told him I was a Christian doing the fatherâs work, not necessarily under any denomination. I was pretty sure it was because of the way I was dressed.
Side note: Thereâs a certain stereotype of how Christians who are witnessing are, in regards to our appearance. When we go out for evangelism, we should dress nice, dress decently. Most people dress down when theyâre out on the harvest field to seem pious but weâre representing the king and He doesnât dress shabbily. 1st Corinthians 14:40 says âLet all things be done decently and in orderâ. Everything is beautiful when order is introduced.
You can have the truth but be rejected because of bad presentation. Let people see you from afar and want you to come and talk to them.
As I continued speaking to Adewale, he told me he wasnât interested in what I was saying because he was a Muslim(at least he was honest). I said a prayer for him to have an encounter with God and then I was on my way.
Afterwards, I entered a shop to witness to a couple ladies. There were 2 of them, the owner of the shop and the salesgirl.
As I stepped in, elated to share the glorious gospel with these 2 ladies, I walked up to the owner of the shop and stated my mission. She then said to me âOhh, this is a business environment and our customers will be complaining when they see you hereâ. There was no customer in the shop o.
I humbly smiled, thanked her and left her shop.
Side note: To be honest, being rejected threw me off my game a little. But Iâve learnt that in witnessing, you leave your pride at home.
I continued on my voyage but of all the experiences I had, one stood out for me and that was with âMummy mercyâ.
I entered her shop and told her I would like to share the love of God with her. She warmly welcomed me and told me to have my seat but I told her not to worry (because her daughter was sitting on the chair).
I started preaching to her, and at certain intervals, customers would come into the shop and she would have to attend to them. But after they left and even while she was attending to them, she would apologize to me for having to interrupt my message. I told her not to apologize and that it was fine. She was so willing to listen(unlike some other people who didnât have customersđ)
After all was said and done, I asked her if she would like to give her life to Christ and she said âYesâ.
Gloryyyđđ˝
I led her to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior and as she was saying the prayer, she kept looking at her daughters. After the prayer, I told her she was setting a good example for them and that when they were older, they would also give their lives to Christ.
Itâs always an honor to witness for Christ and win souls into the Kingdom of God. Every time we do, thereâs a great rejoicing in heaven. Luke 15:10(MSG) says âCount on it, thatâs the kind of party Godâs angels throw every time one lost soul turns to Godâ. We all know that thereâs no party like a Heavenly party.
Nothing compares to the joy of soul winning.
Thank you for reading and I leave you with Jesusâ great commission to us all, âGo into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].âMark⏠â16âŹ:â15⏠âAMPCâŹâŹ
Till I write to you next,
Stay blessedâ¤ď¸
Glory to God. For the souls that have been drawn to the kingdom
