On Wednesday night, I went out to get something with my friend. As we were about to turn into my street and go back to my hostel, I saw a guy standing in front of a shop. He was eating suya😅. The shop was locked and he was standing alone. I perceived I should speak to him but I was so tired😥.
We walked past him at first because; One, it was late (this was around 9pm) and Two, I was tired and hungry😩. But I just couldn’t shake the feeling. I told my friend that we needed to go and talk to the guy. So we went back to the junction.
When he saw us walking up to him, he was anxious at first. We calmed him down by making a little joke about his suya. His name is Micheal. I told him we wanted to share the love of God with him and he was open to listen.
Honestly, I was so tired that I didn’t even know what I was saying but when I popped the question he said “Yes”.

We led him to Christ and later found out he was an JUPEB student seeking admission into the university. He was so grateful we spoke to him and he promised to be in church.
Side note: Micheal was a ripe fruit, overripe even. The seed of the word must have been sown in his heart overtime and God was just looking for that one person for seal the deal. Luke 10:2(TPT)- “He released them with these instructions: “The harvest is huge. But there are not enough harvesters to bring it in. As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to send out many more workers into his harvest fields.”
I’m happy I could be the one to get the work done.
Victor’s Story
Victor is the son of my hostel’s gateman. He really likes to wander about. My friend and I have spoken to him about God and how he needs to be serious with his life but he’ll just laugh it off. He’s 15.
One particular day, my friend and I saw him and she just decided to speak to him. And “oh what a speaking it was😂”. She spoke “sense” inside his head for over 1 hour and after she was done, he left sober.
A few days later, he walked up to me and he asked, “how can one be born again? Will I have to enter my mother’s womb and come out again?”
Side note: Full on Nicodemus😂😂
I told him that was not how he was going to be born again. I explained that all he had to do was to believe in his heart and confess with his mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of his life and he would be born again.
Side note: 1st John 5:1(AMP)- “EVERYONE WHO believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah) is a born-again child of God; and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him (His offspring).”
Romans 10:9(ERV)- “If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved.”
And glory to God💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼, he gave his life to Christ. But that’s not all. A few days after he gave his life to Christ, he knocked on my door and told me, he would like me to teach him the word of God.
Side note: I was beyond shocked. This boy used to be so apathetic about the things of God.
And the thing is, he’s being coming every night since then. He’s now so inquirious about the things of God. But that’s not all, in one of our recent discussions, he was telling me how he’s being teaching his friend the word of God and explaining scripture to him.
Side note: At first I was like, ahah😂. Which scripture is he explaining? But the little he has learnt he’s so ready to share.
I’m genuinely happy to see the transformation power of God at work. Jesus does change lives🤗🤗. Glory to God.
Extra Extra🌚
There’s a prayer the Holy Spirit laid in my heart a few days ago, and I would just like to share it with you. It goes thus; “Fill my heart with so much love for you that I can’t wait to tell everyone about you”.
